Hello! Kia ora! Hola!

I am Emily and I am from New Zealand. I am 21 years old and have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Spanish.

I am very lucky because the Ministry of Education in Spain has given me a placement in Navàs at Sant Josep school to help the children learn English.

This blog is for all the children and their families, the Ministry of Education, for the people at home and anyone else who is interested!

Our aim over the next six months is to help improve the students with their oral and conversational English.

But I will start from the beginning...

17 January - 20 January 2011

Another week has gone by very quickly. And it has been another FUN week at school.

This week we looked at animals in New Zealand... We continued talking one on one and the children are a lot more relaxed around me, so it is easier for us to make progress which is rewarding to see.

Our project is nearing its final stages... I will be sure to upload the finished work with pride. 5é have been working hard and I think we will have a lot of fun putting it altogether.

But here is the presentation about animals, until next week, bye bye!

First week back 10 Jan - 13 Jan 2011

Welcome back to school! This week we really got into our project for the ministry, the four seasons! The children of 5é have been put into groups (Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn) and are preparing things for Fina and I to film. Watch this space!

On the topic of weather I showed all of my classes some pictures and we talked about the weather and seasons in New Zealand, everything is the opposite! Take a look:

Tuesday Lunchtime Class

Hi friends!

Again, sorry it is only up now, but better late than never, this is for the awesome students I have in my extra classes that we have arranged to take out side of my 12 hours with the school.
All my students are great and for our last classes we made Christmas cards, with the older class we sang a Merry Christmas, with my new - found guitar and guitar skills.

For all the parents Fina and I will organise a question evening for you all to come along to and ask me anything you would like.

Here is the clip of our song (the best of 3!)

Bring on the new year! And English speaking and learning!

13 December - 16 December

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

Sorry this is a bit late in being put on the blog! I am sure everyone knows what the end of year is like.
We had a lot of fun in our last classes, Christmas cheer was everywhere and we learnt a Christmas carol from New Zealand called a PUKEKO in a PONGA TREE, take a look:
